Lafayette Police seized over $1 million worth of marijuana in a recent drug bust and arrested a suspect in connection with for alleged distribution.
Devonte J. Davis, 29, faces six counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule One drugs, one count of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and monies derived from drug proceeds, according to a Lafayette Police Department announcement.
The arrest comes after police received information regarding drug activity at a home in the 200 block of Saint James Drive.
On Friday, police executed a search warrant on the residence and found:
117 lbs. of marijuana (estimated value of $1,061,400)1,304 grams of psilocybin mushrooms ($6,520)1,888 grams of THC wax ($188,800)1,088 THC cartridges ($108,800)264 packages of THC gummies ($26,400)2,900 THC cigarettes ($58,000)A stolen Glock 22 handgun
In total, $1.44 million worth of illegal drugs were seized.
Davis was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
