PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Two people are dead after a shooting at a cannabis store in the St. Johns neighborhood, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
Just after 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at the La Mota dispensary in the 9400 block of North St. Louis Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene and found two people dead. Their names have not yet been released.
Police say a person believed to be involved in the shooting stayed at the scene and is cooperating with detectives.
The investigation is ongoing, and no other details have been released by police at this time.
North St. Louis Avenue was closed between North Smith Street and North Pier Park Place during the investigation.

“It’s shocking because people are dead, but it’s not surprising because it’s North Portland,” said neighbor Shannon Eagles.
“It’s been pretty quiet the entire time it’s been open, never been any real issues going on. But again, not surprised,” neighbor Matt O’Keefe said.

This incident was one of several shootings overnight. Police are also investigating an officer-involved shooting in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood.

I’m grateful to all of the members assigned to patrol who answered these calls for service, and the numerous PPB members and partners who responded to investigate these complex incidents.”
