Winnipeg police are looking for two men they say are considered armed and dangerous following a robbery at a Transcona cannabis store late Wednesday night.
Officers were called to the store in the 200 block of Regent Avenue West, east of Plessis Road, with a report of a robbery in progress around 11:45 p.m., police said in a Thursday news release.
Police spoke with three employees of the business, and the initial investigation found two people entered the store with handguns, demanding money and items from the employees.
The stolen items were placed into reusable grocery bags and the robbers fled before police arrived.
None of the employees were injured.
Police released photos of the suspects, both of whom are described as men with fair complexions. Both had their faces covered, and were wearing black pants and hoodies. One of the hoodies featured yellow high-visibility tape over the man’s shoulders, around his waist and on the arms, police said.
Police advise anyone who sees either person, or can identify them, not to approach them, but to call 911 immediately.
They’re also asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the major crimes unit at 204-986-6219, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477 (TIPS) or winnipegcrimestoppers.org.
