WASHINGTON (7News) — Two women were charged with possession of marijuana after D.C. police helped the Alcohol Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) shut down an unlicensed cannabis dispensary in Northwest Thursday.

The dispensary, Supreme Terpene in the 1340 block of U Street, Northwest had been operating as an unlicensed retailer and was previously issued a warning and a cease-and-desist order from ABCA, according to Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officials.

The store failed to comply with ABCA’s orders, and it was determined that it was necessary to close the store to protect the community, officials said.

Officers accompanied ABCA investigators to the store to serve the owner with an official closure notice.

When they arrived, officers saw an illegal amount of marijuana, marijuana edibles, THC products and psychedelic mushrooms in plain sight.

Two women in the store were taken into custody and investigators were called to assist, according to officials.

Officers executed a search warrant at the location and seized about 39 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms, more than 22 pounds of marijuana and over 33 pounds of other substances containing THC, officials said.

Deangela Robinson, 28, of Northeast and Rayna Parker, 24, of Southeast, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, officials said.
