MARIN COUNTY, CA — A traffic stop over an expired registration ended with police finding nearly 30 pounds of marijuana and the driver in jail, according to authorities.

California Highway Patrol officers working an overnight shift in Marin County recently stopped a driver because of an expired registration and then discovered there were 28.55 pounds of marijauana and a gun in the car, police said Sunday.

The driver was arrested and booked into Marin County jail on charges related to possession of marijuana and a firearm, according to police.
