NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. — Around 150 pounds of marijuana were stolen Thursday morning in an armed robbery at a Grass Valley cannabis farm.
According to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a licensed cannabis farm on Sunshine Valley Road for trespassing and a possible break-in.
Deputies found an armed robbery happened with five victims being held at gunpoint. All five worked and lived on the property and were sleeping at the time.
No one was injured, but the robbers made off with about 150 pounds of processed marijuana, valued at $1,000 per pound.
An exact number of suspects as well as a detailed description of them were immediately available. Investigators say they were all wearing masks and gloves.
The sheriff’s office said surveillance cameras at the property were reportedly disabled.
