OLNEY, Ill. (WEVV) — Two people were arrested in southern Illinois after police say a young child brought marijuana to school.
Officials at the Olney Police Department say they responded to a complaint around 8 a.m. Thursday, about a 5-year-old student who brought marijuana to a pre-school.
During the investigation, police say they found marijuana, THC dabs, and rolling papers in the young child’s clear backpack.
Staff told authorities that other kids ages 3 to 5 were present when the drugs were found.
After getting a search warrant for the parents’ residence, police say they arrested and charged Jason Frederick and Kristin Boland with meth possession, and endangering the life or health of a child.
