WOODSIDE, Utah (KUTV) — Authorities recovered 90 pounds of marijuana and $10,000 in cash at an administrative traffic checkpoint in Woodside.

Helper City Police officers said they were assisting Wellington police, Emery County deputies, and Utah Highway Patrol troopers with an administrative checkpoint on SR-6 at milepost 266 in Woodside on Friday, Sept. 13.

During the checkpoint, officials said Helper City Police Officer Lara Olson made contact with two occupants of a vehicle, later identified as Taylor Tarazon and Annette Bonner, both out of Texas.

Officer Olson reportedly picked up the scent of marijuana and proceeded to search the vehicle.

Authorities said she discovered 90 pounds of marijuana, $10,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia, and personal use marijuana products.

Tarazon and Bonner were booked into the Emery County Jail.

This investigation remains ongoing. No further details were immediately released.
