105 pounds of cannabis laid out on and around an Arkansas State Trooper’s vehicle [Images from the Arkansas State Troopers]

A man from Lower Lake, California, was arrested in Arkansas after state troopers discovered 105 pounds of high-grade marijuana in his vehicle, authorities said.

As per a press release, David Willis, 44, was stopped by Arkansas State Police on Wednesday, August 21, around 4:40 p.m., while driving eastbound on Interstate 40 in Conway County, according to police. Troopers had pulled over the rented 2023 Chevrolet Malibu for a traffic violation at the 104-mile marker when they discovered multiple large trash bags in the trunk, containing vacuum-sealed bundles of marijuana.

Willis was taken into custody and transported to the Conway County Detention Center. He faces felony charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Willis told investigators he was en route from California to Knoxville, Tennessee.

It must be stated that the charges have not been proven in a court of law. In accordance with the legal principle of the presumption of innocence, any individual described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
