All THC-containing hemp products in the state of California are now effectively banned.

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s controversial emergency ban, approved by the Office of Administrative Law on Monday, has shut down the thriving product category within the state’s cannabis industry. Newsom has argued that lax rules have allowed underage youth to access these products.

Effective immediately, retailers are no longer allowed to sell drinks and other popular products made with hemp THC,  along with many types of medicinal products made with CBD.

According to SFGATE, the emergency ban will be effective until March 25, 2025.
