YORK, Neb. (KOLN) – Nebraska State troopers arrested one person on Thursday after finding over 40 pounds of marijuana in his car during a traffic stop on I-80.

A trooper pulled over a Kia Forte at 9 a.m. for driving on the shoulder on I-80 near York. During the traffic stop, the trooper reportedly became suspicious of criminal activity.

Troopers searched the car and found 44 pounds of marijuana packed in suitcases in the trunk of the car, according to NSP.

The driver, Luis Frias Alcantara, 30, of the Dominican Republic, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of marijuana and lodged in York County Jail.
