Presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris is actively courting cannabis voters beyond making pro-cannabis statements. A virtual rally hosted by longtime cannabis consumer Willie Nelson and his wife, Annie, at Luck Ranch HQ will feature several cannabis company owners. The rally is happening at 7pm on October 24.

The cannabis telemedicine company NuggMD released a 2024 election poll conducted on 755 regular cannabis consumers between March 25 and April 3. The poll found that 59% of cannabis consumers would vote for a presidential candidate who supports pro-cannabis policies like legalization. Of the 755 respondents, 87% will or are likely to vote in the 2024 elections.

“I’m excited to bring together such an amazing group of people to talk about something we all care about deeply. Cannabis is a path to healing, opportunity, and justice, and supporting leaders like Kamala Harris who understand that is crucial to putting an end to the federal prohibition and undoing the harms it caused to so many, particularly to communities of color where it has been disproportionately enforced,” said  Nelson.

The lineup goes beyond the usual politicians speaking about legalization and includes business owners beyond Nelson.

Former football star Ricky Williams will also be featured on the Zoom. Williams is another cannabis activist who also owns a company called Highsman. His company has products in both the regulated cannabis market and the unregulated hemp market.

In addition to those business owners, Whoopi Goldberg is also on Zoom. Goldberg has launched two cannabis brands under her WhoopFam umbrella. One brand Emma & Clyde,  was named after Goldberg’s late mother and brother. That line features products for both medical and recreational consumers like edibles, pre-rolls, flowers and accessories. The other is a retooled Whoopi & Maya brand.

Country singer Margo Price who has performed with Nelson is another cannabis business owner featured on the Zoom. She has two brands, Mom Grass and Dad Grass which feature CBG products and are available online. The singer also combined her product launch with an album release.

The event also includes Colorado Governor Jared Polis, Brittney Spencer, US Rep. Brittany Pettersen, Dahr Jamail and more.
