WATERLOO — A Waterloo woman has been arrested after her children ate THC gummies, apparently causing one of them to pass out at school.

Officers arrested Iaesha Hope Stewart, 31, on Wednesday for two counts of child endangerment causing bodily injury. Bond was set at $10,000.

According to court records, staff at Irving Elementary School called 911 after her son was found on the floor around 11:40 a.m. Oct. 18. Paramedics with Waterloo Fire Rescue took the child to MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center, where he tested positive for THC and remained overnight.

When police investigators went to the family’s home on Sunnyside Ave., they found Stewart’s 3-year-old daughter acting lethargic and semiconscious. She was taken to MercyOne and then transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She also tested positive for THC.
