WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – It‘s common to look at your kids’ Halloween candy to make sure nothing is opened or tampered with.
But now parents are having to check for cannabis edibles. Sometimes the packaging of the edibles can look like candy.
It was last Halloween when the Massena Police Department found marijuana edibles in the candy basket of a local trick-or-treater.
According to PoisonControl.org, children who eat edibles containing cannabis can experience vomiting, dizziness, difficulty walking and a rapid heartbeat.
