ADAIRVILLE, Ky. – A man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop Sunday in Adairville within Logan County.
According to a uniform citation, the Adairville Police Department observed a black Yukon traveling northbound on 431 South. Police say they initiated a traffic stop after seeing that the registration plate did not match the vehicle.
Police say they made contact with a teen driver. During this time, police say a strong odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle.
An adult, identified as Robert Green, 34, of Hermitage, Tennessee, was located in the passenger seat, authorities say.
Police say Green stated he was teaching the teen to drive.
After approaching the passenger side, police say they learned Green possessed marijuana.
Police say Green was trying to “hide and destroy the marijuana by eating the evidence.”
Green was detained and later arrested.
During a vehicle search, police say they located marijuana in the center console.
Green was transported to the Logan County Detention Center and is charged with no registration plates, endangering the welfare of a minor, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of marijuana, tampering with physical evidence and failure of owner to maintain required insurence/security, first offense.
