CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Sales of recreational marijuana in Ohio have exceeded $131 million in less than three months, according to new figures from the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control.

Sales commenced on August 6 at 124 dual-use marijuana dispensaries across Ohio, which are authorized to sell both recreational and medical marijuana.

Ohio imposes a 10% tax on non-medical marijuana sales.

A study by Ohio State University estimates that the potential annual tax revenue from marijuana could range from $276 million to $403 million by the fifth year of an operational cannabis market.
