The Long Island Cannabis Club, the area’s newest cannabis retailer, will hold its grand opening Friday.
The 4,200-square-foot dispensary at 94 East Industry Court, which has been in the works for two years, joins the slowly growing crop of Long Island’s retail cannabis businesses.
Unlike most of the existing dispensaries here, the Long Island Cannabis Club is unique in that it’s owned and operated by an eclectic group of five budding potrepreneurs ranging in age from 27 to 60-something.

The partners in Long Island Cannabis Club include Amber Bennett, founder of Bloom Insights, a cannabis consulting firm specializing in licensing and compliance; Lisa Ripi, an acupuncturist with a high-profile clientele of pro athletes and celebrities who’s been featured in The New York Times; Anthony Traina, an operating engineer, dog rescuer and French bulldog breeder, who’s been a legacy operator in the underground marijuana industry; Leslie Rodriguez, a former retail manager; and Sean Coviello, owner of BWP Investments, a derivative strategy fund.
The Long Island Cannabis Club offers more than 500 products, including flower, concentrates, edibles, topicals, vapes and accessories.
“We carry everything from simple flower for novice cannabis users to concentrate for cannabis connoisseurs,” Bennett told LIBN. “We’ve also made sure to source product that is safe for all dietary restrictions, including gluten-free, vegan, sugar-free and others.”
Like many cannabis dispensary license holders, the partners of the Long Island Cannabis Club have traveled a long and rocky road to opening their business, navigating myriad obstacles including local regulations, permitting issues, landlord disputes, a court-ordered pause on new dispensaries and more.
“After two years of seemingly non-stop hurdles and obstacles, we stayed the course and followed our dream, because we know this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Bennett said.
The Deer Park dispensary, which had a soft opening last week, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. The business plans to add delivery service in the next month or so.
Two more Long Island cannabis dispensaries are holding grand opening celebrations on Saturday, Dec. 7. Strain Stars, which opened the first Long Island dispensary in Farmingdale in July 2023, will cut the ribbon on its second location, a 14,400-square-foot store at 1871 Old Country Road in Riverhead. In addition, Beleaf, which recently opened a dispensary in Brooklyn, will hold a grand opening for its new cannabis dispensary at 4462 Middle Country Road in Calverton. Beleaf also plans to soon open its third store at 262 Middle Island Road in Medford.
