LARCHWOOD—A 22-year-old Eagan, MN, man was arrested about 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, near Larchwood on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving and speeding.
The arrest of Jarrison Ian Pickering stemmed from a report of an intoxicated motorist, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy located Pickering driving a 2014 Kia Soul erratically and clocked it at 88 mph in a 55-mph zone, according to the incident report.
A stop was initiated on the 1500 mile of Highway 182 about a mile south of Larchwood.
Pickering had bloodshot/watery eyes, impaired balance and the odor of an alcoholic beverage.
A DataMaster Breathalyzer test registered Pickering’s blood alcohol concentration at 0.192, according to the incident report.
Pickering also was found in possession of suspected marijuana and pipes.
