NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police announced Tuesday that they seized thousands of hemp plants from an unlicensed grower in Hamilton County.
ISP said troopers with the Indianapolis Post and the Drug Enforcement Section had a search warrant to seize an estimated 7,000 hemp plants from the grower.

Industrial production of hemp is legal in Indiana as long as the grower has a license, as hemp contains traces of THC, the same psychoactive compound as in marijuana.
