MANHATTAN, Kan. (KCTV) – Former Kansas State star Michael Beasley took to social media to take accountability for his actions after being arrested for possessing marijuana at Manhattan Regional Airport early Sunday morning.
Beasley, who returned to Manhattan for several appearances centered around Saturday’s K-State versus Kansas men’s basketball game at Bramlage Coliseum, was found with just under six grams of marijuana while trying to board a plane.
“Taking a moment to address the situation and move forward, I take full accountability for what happened today,” Beasley wrote in a note posted to his Instagram. “Though it’s still fresh, I’m already focused on learning and making better decisions. Returning to Manhattan felt like coming home, and that win over KU truly showcased the heart and resilience of our community.
Beasley continued: “I extend my sincere gratitude to Coach Tang, the staff, and the dedicated KSU fans for their unwavering support, and a special thank you to Ms. Lucy for always having my back. EMAW, always.”
The Wildcats defeated the Jayhawks, 81-73 in Saturday’s game. Beasley was arrested and booked Sunday morning and subsequently released on a $750 bond.
