An Horry County jury convicted a Conway man of trafficking marijuana on Tuesday, according to Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson.

Jessie Salcedo Bueno, 39, was convicted Tuesday of trafficking marijuana between 10 and 100 pounds following a one-day trial that began Monday.

The Honorable Circuit Court Judge George McFaddin presided over the trial and sentenced Bueno to three years in prison.

David Beamer, an assistant solicitor, along with Joshua Holford, a senior assistant solicitor, prosecuted the case for the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

“The Solicitor’s Office would like to extend their thanks to the officers with the Horry County Police Department and agents of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division for all their hard work on the case,” Beamer said.

On Sept. 23, 2022, Bueno had about 17 pounds of marijuana mailed to his home from Washington State. Then, law enforcement conducted a search warrant on his home and found drugs hidden in the insulation of the home.
