AN ISLE of Wight drug driver was caught over the limit for cannabis in the early hours of the morning.
Alan Tinsley, of North Road, Shanklin, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday, February 18.
The 40-year-old admitted drug driving, on The Broadway in Sandown, on August 30 of last year.
Prosecutor, Giles Fletcher, said police were on routine patrol at around 1.10am and their attention was drawn to a Subaru Legacy being driven by Tinsley.

Mr Fletcher said Tinsley was stopped and failed a roadside test, registering a reading of 7 for cannabis when the specified limit is 2.
The court heard traces of other drugs were found in his system, but all below the legal limit.
Jim Osborne, defending, said Tinsley was not working, was on Universal Credit, and a pre-sentence report was needed.
Tinsley, who has ten previous convictions for 21 offences, saw his case adjourned to May 9.
He was granted unconditional bail until that date and made subject of an interim driving ban.
