FROSTPROOF, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is expected to give more information Tuesday morning about the arrest of a second suspect accused in the murder of a Frostproof man.
The backstory:
According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, 15-year-old Tyjhae Allen and a 16-year-old ordered marijuana from the victim on an app.
Deputies say the teens stopped the 22-year-old victim while he was driving down the road in a Frostproof neighborhood.
The trio spoke for about 2-3 minutes before one of the teens began shooting the 22-year-old, who tried to return fire, according to PCSO.
Investigators say the victim’s car drifted about half a block before it ran into a curb and stopped.
That’s where deputies say they found the victim clutching a baggie of marijuana.
Sheriff Judd said Allen is in custody, and that the other 16-year-old suspect, who has not been named, was taken into custody on Monday.
Judd said this was not a difficult case to solve because the shooting occurred in front of one of the suspect’s homes. He added that cameras are everywhere and helped in the investigation.
What’s next:
Allen has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and tampering with evidence.
