VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) – A man was arrested in Valdosta after running a red light with pounds of marijuana and ecstasy in his truck.

Keith James Austin, 35, was arrested on Sunday night by the Valdosta Police Department (VPD) after running a red light in the 1100 block of North St. Augustine Road.

When the officer observed Austin run the light, he conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with Austin, the officer noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the truck. Austin admitted to the officer that he did have a small amount of marijuana in his truck, but during a search of the vehicle, officers found over two pounds of marijuana, 17 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), and currency indicative of narcotics sales.

Austin was arrested and transported to Lowndes County Jail.

Austin has been charged with:

Possession of MDMA with the intent to distribute-felonyPossession of marijuana with the intent to distribute-felonyDisregard traffic control device-misdemeanor
