GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo. (KJCT) – A woman ended up behind bars in Garfield County Wednesday afternoon after police allegedly found several dozen pounds of marijuana in her car, along with psychedelic mushrooms and several thousand dollars in cash.

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said that its deputy stopped 60-year-old Kelly Elaine Hunsbeth of Iowa near mile marker 72 on the eastbound lane of Interstate 70. The responding GCSO deputy had a police dog with him, which signaled to its handler that it smelled illegal drugs in the car.

Deputies alleged that searching the car turned up a total of 49 vacuum-sealed bags of suspected marijuana, tallying up to 88.4 pounds, and a 1.6-pound bag of mushrooms. Authorities also said that she was carrying $14,000 in cash.

Hunsbeth was still in the Garfield County Jail as of Thursday afternoon. Her bail was set to $25,000. She is facing charges of improperly signaling and the possession of more than 50 pounds of marijuana.
