SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — A few third grade students were rushed to the hospital after reportedly ingesting marijuana gummies on school campus.
According to a parent, a student brought the THC gummies to school and shared them with his classmates. Some students experienced symptoms including; a racing heart and trouble walking.
The incident occurred before school at Turtle Bay Elementary according to the principal of the school who informed student’s families about the incident in a statement.
Families were also notified that it was an isolated event that occurred before school and started with some fourth grade students involved.
The school principal said, “We hold safety and well-being of our students to the highest priority. ” before adding the incident is under investigation and all students are doing well.
After Turtle Bay elementary issued the statement to parents, they also shared a flyer on Facebook about a series of guest speaker events that promote discussions on substance safety.
