DIXFIELD, Maine (WGME) — The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office says they searched a house on Porter Road in Dixfield and found a large, illegal marijuana grow.

At around 9 a.m. on Friday, police say they executed a search warrant on the house after getting reports of an illegal grow there.

Aided by federal, state, and local authorities, the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office reportedly found over 23 pounds of processed marijuana and 1,647 marijuana plants.

Police say no one was home at the time of the search, but according to records, the house is owned by a 38-year-old woman from Boston.

The investigation is still ongoing.
