GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) – According to the Gulfport Police Department, detectives conducted a traffic stop on March 19 that led to an arrest and the discovery of over 114 grams of marijuana and two guns.
The traffic stop happened on I-10 near mile marker 38 around 2:05 p.m.
Detectives said when they approached the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of marijuana.
During a search, the Gulfport Police Department said detectives found over 86 grams of marijuana concealed in 29-year-old Trevonne Lil Brian Mingo’s underwear.
An additional 28 grams of marijuana was found inside the vehicle, along with a loaded assault rifle and a handgun, according to police.

Mingo is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon after a felony conviction.
Mingo had a prior felony conviction in Louisiana for accessory after the fact to attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery.
