SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WFSB) – A man was placed under arrest after evading arrest in Southington back in early January.
According to the Southington Police Department, officers were in the area of Queen Street trying to conduct a motor vehicle stop after a car was misusing their registration violation.
But, the driver did not stop and began to speed while committing several moving violations then entered I-84 eastbound.
On January 31, police found a car that matched the description of the previous incident parked in the lot of The Groggy Frogg.
When officers saw the car, it was revealed that there were no occupants, but they could spot controlled substances in the vehicle.
Police were able to obtain a search and seizure warrant for the suspected vehicle and they found 14.49 pounds of marijuana along with other THC edibles and oils.

An arrest warrant was granted for the driver in April and he has been identified as 29-year-old Shaykeim Correa of Waterbury.
Correa is now facing the following charges:
Operating unregistered motor vehicleMisuse of registrationOperation of a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock devicePossession of controlled substance with intent to sellIllegal possession of marijuanaFailure to insure motor vehicle
He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
