[#item_full_content] In the summer of 2025, the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) received a complaint from a concerned community member reporting that an illegal cannabis dispensary, known as “The Red Eyes,” had sold cannabis products to a 13-year-old youth. Members of the GSPS Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) immediately engaged with the complainant and launched an investigation under the Cannabis Act. On August 7th, 2025, DEU officers – assisted by the GSPS Emergency Response Unit and Intelligence Unit – arrested a male suspect associated with the illegal dispensary after observing him delivering cannabis products. (The photo represents approximately one-quarter of the total seizure). The sale of cannabis is regulated in the Province of Ontario. For consumer safety, cannabis should be purchased through licensed, legitimate retailers. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
