One of the bigger and more controversial marijuana processing companies in New York — Long Island-based Omnium Health — now stands to lose its business permits, is facing seven-figure fines, will have to facilitate an enormous product recall, and could be permanently banned from participating in the legal cannabis market, regulators announced Monday.The state Office of Cannabis Management began investigating the company in February, which does business as Omnium Canna, and which acted as a processor for a number of high-profile national marijuana brands, including California-based STIIIZY.
