On Sept. 24, 2022, surrounded by friends, neighbors, family, elected officials and customers, I opened the doors to 6 Brick’s.

It was the type of grand opening in movies — a surreal moment full of ceremony and celebration.

 I believed the promises … that local ownership would ensure communities disproportionately affected by cannabis prohibition, especially people of color, would benefit from the very plant that once led to their arrests. That has not happened.  Read More
