WACO, Texas (KWTX) – A Waco man was arrested after robbing a group of people at gunpoint on Christmas Eve, an affidavit alleges.

Victor Galvez, 18, is charged with aggravated robbery and possession of marijuana 2 ounces or less.

On Dec. 24, the affidavit states police were sent to the 3500 block of Fredrick Avenue on reports of a domestic disturbance with a gun.

After arriving on scene, the affidavit states officers made contact with the victim who said he was outside drinking and cooking with his roommates when a short Hispanic man, later identified as Galvez, approached them.

The victim, according to the affidavit, said Galvez pointed a black firearm towards him and his roommates, told them to get on their knees, threatened to kill them and took the victim’s phone before fleeing the scene.

While officers were on scene, the affidavit states another call came from 27th Street and Bosque Boulevard with call notes stating a man was running down the street and looked like he needed help.

Officers arrived on scene to that call and found the man to be Galvez, the affidavit states.

While speaking to Galvez, a separate officer called the victim’s phone that was stolen and Galvez answered.

Galvez was subsequently arrested by police and searched.

During the search, the affidavit alleges officers found a single bullet and 1.9 ounces of marijuana on Galvez.

Police took a picture of Galvez, and the victim confirmed Galvez was the man who took his phone, according to the affidavit.

Galvez was booked into the McLennan County Jail is being held on bonds totaling $26,000.
