A south Alabama woman is behind bars, accused of using a drone to drop marijuana into a state prison.
Twice.
Andrea Latrice Robinson, 36, of Mobile, is charged with two counts of attempting to commit a controlled substance crime, two counts of first-degree marijuana, two counts of illegal drone operation and second-degree promoting prison contraband.
Alabama Department of Corrections investigators say Robinson on Feb. 27 used a drone to drop 490 grams of marijuana – nearly one pound – into Holman Correctional Facility.
Charging documents state the FIMI drone crashed, and the drugs were found.
Then, on April 12, records state she again used a drone to drop 250 grams of marijuana – more than half a pound, also on the grounds of Holman, a maximum-security facility.
Robinson was taken into custody Tuesday and remains held without bond in the Escambia County Jail.
