The current proposed site for Alexandria’s medical cannabis dispensary is the old Truist Bank building on U.S. 27.
An Alexandria business was among the first medical cannabis dispensaries to be selected in the state’s license lottery, according to an announcement from the governor’s office on Nov. 25. Nicole Tirella in Alexandria was selected for the license.
The old bank is located at 7612 Alexandria Pike, next door to a US Bank.
In this first lottery round, 36 dispensary businesses throughout the commonwealth were selected at random to receive licenses. A second dispensary lottery will occur on Dec. 16, but Northern Kentucky businesses will not be considered in that drawing.
