LITTLE ROCK, (KATV) — Speakeasy Dispensary will be taking its operations to Prairie County, leaving its current dispensary location of 110 Grider Field Ladd Road in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

A formal application was submitted in August of this year, which fulfilled all technical requirements outlined by the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission (AMMC).

“I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of this meeting,” said Casey Flippo, owner of Speakeasy Dispensary. “We are grateful to the commission for recognizing the widespread community support shown through the numerous letters we provided and for appreciating our efforts to engage our efforts to engage with local residents. This approval represents a significant step forward in improving access to essential patient care for those who need it most.”

With intentions of increasing access to medical cannabis for patients in Prairie County, the company received unanimous, compliance approval from state officials during the September 2024 AMMC meeting.

Along with the creation of 10 to 20 more local jobs, the area in which the company operated in was projected a substantial increase in sales tax revenue, from $70,000 to $150,00 yearly.

For cities nearby, patient travel times will be reduced, setting the proposed facility in an area where its resources can be accessed in the patient access desert.

Speakeasy Dispensary plans to stay involved in engaging with communities and assist in economic revitalization.
