LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A traffic stop after a high-speed chase by Arkansas State Police on Dec. 20 revealed the driver had mushrooms, ecstasy, illegal marijuana, and three bottles of promethazine in the car.
The incident began on 10 p.m. when a trooper pulled over a 2010 white Chrysler 300 on Highway 67 for a traffic violation.
The suspect, 24-year-old Malcolm Curry, would speed off and get onto I-40 traveling west with speeds reaching up to 130 miles per hour and Curry reportedly turned off all of the lights.
The high-speed chase would continue onto I-430 and Curry would take the Colonel Glenn Road exit before crashing the car while on Lawson Road.
Curry would then get out of the car, but was arrested by troopers shortly after.
A search of the vehicle reportedly found 14 boxes of PolkaDot psychoactive mushrooms, 47 Ecstasy pills, two pounds of illegal marijuana, and three bottles of promethazine.
Curry is being held at the Pulaski Co. Detention Center and is being charged with possession of a controlled substance, fleeing, possession of drug paraphernalia, unauthorized use of property, and several traffic violations.
