VAN BUREN — The Arkansas State Police reported confiscating 2,872 pounds of illegal marijuana Monday during a traffic stop on Interstate 40.
Troopers pulled over a tractor-trailer at the eastbound 2-mile marker in Crawford County for a traffic violation around 12:45 p.m. Monday, according to a state police news release.
Upon searching the trailer, police found seven pallets containing 107 boxes of illegal marijuana, the release says. The driver, Zhiping Mu, 31, from Kent, Wash., was arrested and taken to the Crawford County jail, the release says.
Mu faces felony charges of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He remained in the Crawford County jail on Tuesday on $150,000 bond.
