Neighbourhood officers in Little Hulton executed two warrants over the weekend.

The Little Hulton cannabis farm was discovered over the weekend (Image: Greater Manchester Police) The warrants – executed on Saturday and Sunday at Wallbrook Crescent and Chedworth Crescent respectively – saw the discovery of a cannabis farm and the arrest of a man.

While nothing of significant note was located at Wallbrook Crescent, numerous cannabis plants, growing equipment, and other suspected illegal paraphernalia were discovered in Chedworth Crescent.

Several knives and a hand-axe were additionally recovered during the warrant.

Weapons were seized from the property (Image: Greater Manchester Police) A man, aged 31, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis, abstracting electricity, and possession of offensive weapons He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are running an operation in Little Hulton is targeting everything from organised crime to anti-social behaviour, with specialist teams within the force taking part in the operation.

Since the launch of the operation in January, dozens of arrests, charges, seizures, and stop-searches have occurred, with the weekend’s work adding to the tally of results. Further community work has seen inputs, campaigns, and more work being done to engage with residents.

Two knife amnesties have already seen approximately 100 weapons handed in since January, with a further 18 over the last week. The amnesty is continuing over the coming weeks and the disposal bin is moving to different areas.

Officers from both the local neighbourhood team and the specialist Challenger unit will continue to execute warrants in the coming weeks, to , say police “disrupt and prevent criminality from blighting the lives of the Little Hulton community”.

Sergeant Helen Matthews, from GMP’s Little Hulton Neighbourhood Team, said: “By executing warrants, we can do two things: seize illegal and dangerous goods, and remind criminals that we are there. We will always act on intelligence we receive and by working with specialist teams, can determine the best way to go about our work.
