The Arkansas State Police seized 2,872 pounds of marijuana on Monday afternoon during a traffic stop on I-40.

VAN BUREN, Ark. — The Arkansas State Police seized 2,872 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Monday, Feb. 3.

Around 12:45 p.m.,  police pulled over a tractor-trailer in Crawford County on I-40 for a traffic violation. 

While searching the trailer, police found seven pallets with 107 boxes of marijuana. 

31-year-old Zhiping Mu from Kent, Washington was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Detention Center. 

Mu faces felony charges of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Mu is being held on a $150,000 bond.

“This seizure highlights Arkansas State Police’s commitment to fighting drug trafficking on our highways,” said Arkansas State Police Director Col. Mike Hagar. “I am immensely proud of our Troopers’ dedication to safeguarding Arkansans by stopping the transportation of narcotics through our state and into our communities.”
