WEXFORD COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) — Green Flower Cannabis and Baker College in Cadillac have launched new online cannabis programs.
It’s an effort to train people for the growing industry.
Green Flower currently has 60 partnerships with colleges and universities across the country.
Green Flower CEO Max Simon says this rapidly growing industry is in need of more certified professional workers.
There are three certificate programs offered.
“We have cannabis cultivation program, a cannabis extraction program, and a cannabis retail program because those align with the job sectors and career opportunities that exist in this new industry. So the programs are perfect because they allow you to get the skills and knowledge and credibility you need to basically enter these different facets of the cannabis industry in Michigan today
We received a statement from Baker College about the new programs:
“These programs are tailored to meet the needs of both individuals seeking new opportunities and industries looking for skilled talent. Michigan has topped cannabis sales, even more than California, and we are here to support those who want to be educated in the field.”
Students who complete the courses will also be entered into Green Flower’s employment network, connecting them with companies looking to hire.
The course takes 9 weeks to complete.
