AUSTIN, Texas — The future of Marijuana in Texas will take center stage when the new legislative session gets underway next month.

A Dallas lawmaker filed a bill that would legalize recreational marijuana.

It would allow anyone over the age of 21 to legally transport 2.5 ounces for personal use. People would also be able to keep up to 10 ounces at home as long as it’s securely stored.

It’s important to note that it would still be illegal to smoke weed in public.
