ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — A brightly-colored suitcase full of marijuana and jars of THC were among items seized by the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office during a narcotics operation that netted 13 pounds of drugs, weapons and two arrests.
The sheriff’s office said it arrested 32-year-old Tyrek Hanton and 33-year-old Laquinton Willimas after executing a narcotics search warrant at a home on Millwood Farm Road on Jan. 24. Both were charged with trafficking marijuana – more than 10 pounds with roughly 13 pounds of it seized.
Authorities said they found vacuum-sealed marijuana in a “large bright pink suitcase,” some concentrated THC in small jars and THC gummies. They also found and seized a shotgun and a rifle, the sheriff’s office said.
As for the suitcase, Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said that he’s “still trying to find a charge for that ugly thing.”
