Two puppies were rescued with the help of a police dog during a police raid in Croydon. Four people were subsequently arrested after officers executed a warrant as part of an ongoing operation to tackle drug-related crime.
In the early hours of Friday, February 7, Croydon Police raided a property on Clarendon Road. During the search, officers seized approximately £1,500 worth of cannabis, as well as scales and a knife.
They were helped by police dog Pippa, who played a vital role in locating the drugs and weapon. The two puppies were also discovered inside the property.
A police spokesperson said: “The property itself was in poor condition, making it unfit for the two young dogs found inside. No suspect claimed ownership of the puppies, so officers cared for them back at Croydon Police Station before handing them over to the local dog warden, ensuring they now have a safe, warm, and more suitable environment.”
The four individuals were arrested for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, and one was also arrested as he was wanted on warrant for robbery. The suspects have been bailed while further investigations take place.
The spokesperson added: “Our work to disrupt drug activity in Croydon continues – if you have any information about drug dealing or criminal activity in your area, please report it to police on 101 or online, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
