Earlier this week, acting on information provided to them, police attended a home in Curl Curl and located five cannabis plants in the leafy back garden.
The plants, described as ‘healthy looking’ by police, were, on average, two metres tall and the police said it was no wonder they drew attention to themselves.
An “accredited police officer” attended the scene and identified the cannabis plants that were then seized and destroyed.
The male occupant of the property will be issued with a future court attendance notice to appear at Manly Local Court for the offence of Cultivate Prohibited Plant.

$12,000 lost in Booking.com/Visa credit card fraud
Last month, a woman from Dee Why received a call from someone claiming to be from Visa, who wanted to confirm if a $12,000 transaction with Booking.com was genuine.
The woman told the caller she didn’t authorise the transition and was careful not to disclose any personal information.
Some days later, the woman checked her account and noticed the money was debited from her account. Her bank is investigating.
It appears her credit card details were compromised and used unlawfully.
Police remind everyone to inform their bank when travelling and to identify the countries they will visit. Banks use this information to detect and stop suspicious transactions.
Angel Grinder used to steal secured e-bike outside Felons
On 18 March 2025, a man from Manly secured his e-bike outside Felons at Manly Wharf and went to work.
On his return, he noticed his e-bike was stolen and reported it to the police.
Felons provided CCTV footage of the theft that depicts two offenders, a man and a woman. The man withdrew a portable angle grinder from a backpack and cut the lock, which was securing the bike. The woman then rode away on the $3,000 e-bike.
Police remind local e-bike owners to record the e-bike’s serial number to help recover stolen e-bikes.
Inquiries are under way to identify the thieves.
