CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A brief chase from police led to the seizure of 18 pounds of marijuana by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, officers confirmed.

Police said they saw a “suspicious” vehicle at an apartment complex on Wednesday, Jan. 29. When they tried to contact the people inside the car, one person opened the door and ran, officers said. They were caught shortly thereafter.

Police then searched the vehicle and said they found 18 pounds of marijuana and a concealed gun.

The person, whose name was not released, was charged with resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer, trafficking marijuana by possession and transportation and carrying a concealed weapon.
