Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) can’t stop Dallas from implementing a voter-approved measure prohibiting enforcement of marijuana-related offenses, a judge ruled Friday.
Judge Dale Tillery of the 134th District Court denied Paxton’s motion for temporary injunction during a hearing in Dallas County.
Tillery (D) released the decision in a one-page order.
Paxton sued in November after Dallas voters overwhelmingly passed a law prohibiting the city’s police from making arrests or issuing citations for marijuana possession or considering the odor of marijuana as probable cause for search or seizures.
