COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Apothecary Farms off Garden of the Gods is one of 35 different dispensaries that is ow waiting for the final approval from the state after being approved by the city. They are under preliminary approval status.
City records show around 70 medical dispensaries have applied for retail licenses. Processing coordinator for Apothecary Farms Brandon Miller says the dispensary will be ready as soon as they have the green light.
“It’s just huge and being able to build our brand and build our business and share what we have to offer with the public,” Miller said.
After a legal battle over Ballot Question 300 approved by voters in November, a judge’s ruling led to the city moving forward with recreational marijuana sales on April 14.
“We’re starting off with an increase in production, so we’re increasing what we’re running to make sure that we’re gonna be able to stock everybody who’s coming to see us,” Miller said.
Miller says in addition to the increase in production the store has also increased their staff.
“Will be ready here as long as it comes through,” Miller said. “We’re ready to roll.”
Despite there being no difference in medical and recreational marijuana miller tells me he has been cross-training his new staff members in the other branches in Pueblo and Denver to get them ready for recreational sales.
The store says there will be little to no difference for the customer, you will scan in with your ID tell the person at the front of the store what you are there for, and walk in.
Starting April 14th anyone over 21 who wants to buy marijuana from a dispensary can buy some if their license has been approved by the city and the state.
