A Saline County medical marijuana dispensary plans to ask state regulators next week for approval to relocate from the Hensley area to Bryant, and the proposed move already has the support of the Bryant mayor.
Good Day Farm Hensley has submitted documents to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission saying it would like to move to a location at the intersection of Highway 5 North and Hurricane Lake Road in Bryant. The proposed address is listed as 3205 Highway 5 North and 2320 Hurricane Lake Road. Google Maps shows the location is on the north side of the highway, across from the Arkansas Heart Hospital Encore Medical Center.
The commission will consider the request at its meeting at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
Bryant Mayor Chris Treat submitted a letter of support to the Medical Marijuana Commission last month, saying the relocation had his “steadfast support.”
Treat said representatives of the dispensary had spoken with him and his constituents to present their plans. He said the relocation would be a “great opportunity for economic growth” and would help serve medical marijuana patients in the area. As long as the business operates in compliance with Arkansas law, Treat said he would be “pleased to have the dispensary relocate to Bryant.”
Good Day Farm Hensley is located at 26225 U.S. Highway 167 in Hensley in southern Pulaski County. The dispensary previously submitted a request to move to a location near Interstate 30 in Benton. An attorney representing the dispensary said Friday that the request to move to the Benton location has been withdrawn.
Good Day Farm Hensley’s licensee is Todd Denton, who is the owner and CEO of Little Rock investment company Foxden Capital. Commission documents show the dispensary has 94 owners; Juliette Dobbs Allen holds the largest share at about 9%. The next largest shareholder is Lennie Force, with about 6%, while Denton and several others each hold about 4.5% of the business.
The commission will also consider Jessica Trulove’s request to purchase the Newport cultivator known as Revolution Cannabis. Trulove’s proposed purchase has appeared on the commission’s agenda previously, including at the commission’s December meeting, but has been withdrawn by the licensee prior to the meetings.
Jessica Trulove is the wife of Matt Trulove, who owns 20% of Osage Creek Cultivation in Berryville. Matt Trulove’s mother, Mary Trulove, owns 55% of Osage Creek Cultivation and other family members own the rest. Jay Trulove, Jessica Trulove’s father-in-law, is the sole owner of Osage Creek Dispensary in Eureka Springs.
State law allows for individuals to own an interest in one dispensary and one cultivation facility. It does not place restrictions on the ownership interests of other family members. Revolution Cannabis is currently owned by Tamika Edwards and Dustin Shroyer.
