The parent company of Edible Arrangements is getting into another kind of edibles — and it has to do with THC-infused hemp products such as drinks and gummies.
Last week in a news release Edible Brands announced the launch of Edibles.com calling it a “wellness-driven marketplace” that offers “convenient same-day delivery of trusted THC-infused products.”
The e-commerce platform plans to sell “leading brands” of these products such as Cann, Wana, 1906 and others.
Edibles.com is led by Thomas Winstanley, who the company identified as a “cannabis industry veteran.”
“With our robust infrastructure and nationwide footprint, we are uniquely positioned to accelerate industry growth,” Winstanley said in a statement.

The new company said the hemp industry faces challenges due to a market “saturated with products that lack consistent quality and testing standards, adding to consumer confusion and hesitancy.”
Edibles.com added that it tackles these problems “head-on” with its “robust education center, reliable delivery, and partnerships.”
Somia Farid Silber, CEO of Edible Brands, called the hemp industry “rapidly evolving” in a statement. The company said there’s an estimated $28 billion market for THC-infused hemp products.

While both plants contain THC and CBD, hemp carries less THC than marijuana does, the group added.

While marijuana is considered illegal under federal law, to date, 24 states have legalized recreational marijuana use, according to data from DISA. Other states allow for marijuana in more limited circumstances such as medical use or have decriminalized the substance. Still, several states uphold outright bans.
Hemp on the other hand is not considered illegal under federal law due to its lower THC concentration, according to the American Cancer Society, making it more widely available.
